Hello friends! Today I’m sharing something a little bit different than my usual, but it’s sparking joy in my teacher heart! It’s back to school season and we’re celebrating my son’s first ever year of Preschool this week, so I’ve been drawing up a storm trying to make special little things for him to see and remember during this time.
Today I’m sharing some cute back to school phone backgrounds! I shared them in my instagram stories today, but these are the full resolution images. Instagram crops and compresses the art in stories, and it makes me kinda sad. So make sure you get the good stuff by saving the images in this post!
But first a brief essay on my back to school thoughts (because I have no chill, guys.)

Back to school season is a magical time, full of potential and anticipation of a brand new school year, a new teacher, and new friends. Growing up, my mom made back to school time so special, and I cherished the time we spent in the target back to school aisles picking out just the right folders, along with fresh boxes of pencils and crayons.
I loved school so much I would play school all summer break with my little sister (and when she got sick of it, I’d play school with my dolls). I’d spend hours on my dad’s old computer making math worksheets and lesson plans. I should have realized then that I was destined to be a teacher.
Becoming a teacher created its own kind of magic around back to school season, each year bringing new challenges and excitement. Although I temporarily stepped back from teaching until my kids are in school, I still feel a rush of excitement when I see them put up the back to school signs and the aisles of waxy-scented delight.
My son starts his first year of preschool this year, and I am excited to make his very first back to school season just as special as my mom made for me. And honestly, it wasn’t about the “stuff” (although is there anything more wonderful than a fresh box of crayola crayons?). It was the time we spent together, and the anticipation of a brand new year of learning and friendship.
I got to work drawing up little things to print out for fun back to school decorations and activities, and somewhere along the way I realized I could share it with you! I know this isn’t specifically “music” stuff, but it’s important to me and sparks joy in my teacher heart. I’ll share more back to school resources over the next few days, and then I’ll be back to my regular scheduled stuff soon, I promise. Thanks for letting me take time to share something that is special to me. I hope you enjoy it and can use it, too🍎

Okay, enough blabbing! Thanks for indulging me. Here are the backgrounds! Save the image and use as your phone background. To make things easier to find on my phone, I have a folder in my photos app called “phone backgrounds” so that they don’t get lost in my camera roll. Just an idea! (for personal use only, cannot be reposted as raw art files, thanks!)
