Tomorrow is my family’s annual apple cider day where we spend all day processing my parents' apples into gorgeous, delicious, sweet, golden apple cider, and so I thought I’d share one more apple-y folk song for you on this fine Folk Song Friday.
I think this is a sweet one because it talks about the special little star you can find in an apple when you cut it just right. I think it would be special to share this song as you cut an apple to show the star, so that the children will see what the song is talking about. You could also tie in a literacy element and talk about metaphorical language, how there aren’t really rooms inside an apple, but little places where the seeds are held that are like rooms, and so on.
I have some fun ideas brewing for this folk song so make sure to check back this coming week for all kinds of apple fun. And then maybe we start to tiptoe more into spooky (/not-so-spooky) songs for October? I have a few super fun ones I’ve wanted to share for a while now.
