Hi friends! I’m not sure if I will get an instagram post up about our folk song of the week, but I figured I’d get the song card up in case anyone wants to share it next week for one last turkey hurrah. (If you missed last week’s delightful song “Shoo Turkey”, click here to check it out!)
This is a fun and playful song about a mischievous little turkey and hen who run away from the pasture together. What do you think they’re going to get up to as they’re on their little adventure? Maybe make up a story with your students, and see what ideas they have for the two wild and silly birds.
There isn’t a traditional game for this song (at least, not that I could find in my research!) but I put an idea for a simple game on the song card. I always notate when the game is not traditional to the folk song, I think it’s important to preserve the original song while sharing ideas and teaching suggestions.
Let me know if you give this song a try in your home or classroom this week over on my instagram. I really love hearing from you and am active in my Dms for any questions or ideas you may need!

Wishing you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving! Happy singing.
